The Process
Planning your photography session
Will discuss ideas for your portraits and plan all of the details of your session at the design consultation. We will clarify what we are photographing for, such as a folio box, an album, wall portraits, and set our goals.
We'll establish an "artistic vision". You can let me know your preferences in various photographic styles that you are drawn towards. What is the best setting for your portrait? Do you like a traditional portrait, or a story-telling portrait that shows your family relating to each other and to the surroundings? We will discuss the retouching process and advance editing options.
Then you will select a custom portrait location. Where would you prefer your portrait session: at your home, other location, outdoor natural setting at my studio or in a studio setting? Each has their advantages.
I will send you one of my prep guide with some tips on how to get ready for your shoot.
Prep Guides
Getting the look you want.
Your Artwork is Ready
Your artwork is ready in about two weeks but albums will take a bit longer and can take up to six weeks to complete. I am happy to deliver within 30 miles at no extra charge.
Colors and Clothing
Let's talk clothing. You will want to coordinate colors for a harmonious result, thinking of where the portraits will hang. Clothing colors, props, and backgrounds make a huge difference! This is important to me in creating the look you like. You will also receive the getting ready guide to help you with your session it includes Clothing Tips, What to wear, and Getting Ready. Please bring at least 4 outfits (or more) to choose from on hangers, wrinkle and lint free. I will help you choose and coordinate with the look you are going for. Your clothing selection can make the difference between a unique image and just another picture. Clothing Tips
Access will be give to you for "The Photoshoot Tips" once you have booked your session.
Your photoshoot you will be fully guided
At your photography session please plan on spending at least two or up to three hours with me, this is the time to relax and let me create and capture your special moments with my camera. Lets work together to be sure you reserve adequate time so I can make your portraits everything you desire. We can take breaks if needed, have a snacks etc. Leave it to me! I only book one photoshoot per day and allow a lot of extra time if needed so we should never feel rushed.

The Reveal
This is when you choose which images you would like to purchase and how you would like to display your images.
The amount of photos will vary but expect to view around 40 images from a two hour session. I will edit and retouch selected images. This is when you will pick out your favorite images and choose the photographs you wish to order and how you want to display them.
I’ll book you in to either come back to the studio or set up a zoom ordering appointment. The reveal appointment usually takes place 14 days after your portrait session.
To be best prepared for this appointment decide which wall you'd love to fill with your custom artwork. Making a list of family and friends that you want to gift prints to is helpful. All decision makers will want to be included at the reveal. This typically last about 90 minutes but can take longer. Please allow plenty of time!

Be ready, before your session you will want to first determine where you will want to hang your wall portraits. This is a very important step.
